About the Provider
Far Eastern University (FEU) was established in 1928 by Dr. Nicanor Reyes, Sr. as the Institute of Accountancy offering a three-year program that gave graduates the requirements for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Exam. The Institute began to branch out to other fields of study like economics, business administration, and banking and finance. A year after its establishment, it became the Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance (IABF). In 1933, IABF partnered with then Far Eastern College which offered courses in the liberal arts, giving birth to FEU.
From being one of the first Accountancy and Business schools in the country, the university has expanded its course offerings. At present, the institution also has Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Fine Arts, Education, Law, Nursing, Tourism and Hotel Management, Engineering, and Computer Studies colleges.
After decades of expansion and development, Far Eastern University’s Accountancy, as well as its other undergraduate program, have excelled and acquired the highest recognition of Level IV accreditation from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). It is also recognized as a Center of Development in Business Administration and a Center of Excellence for Teacher by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd). They were also granted an Autonomous status in April 2016. This means that FEU is allowed to open new campuses, grant honorary degrees, determine their own curriculum and offer new programs without much supervision from CHEd.
