About this course

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education (BSIE) is a four-year ladderized academic program designed to prepare students for teaching technical courses in secondary and college levels, including vocational schools. The program covers a variety of technical and technological subjects, including Automotive, Civil, Drafting, Electrical, Electronics, Food and Garments Technology, Computer and Refrigeration and Air-conditioning. The program aims to strengthen the students’ knowledge of technical skills and effective teacher education. BSIE is a ladderized program, meaning that the students who successfully complete each year level and pass the TESDA Competency Assessment are issued the National Certificate (NC) of that particular level.

Foreign Students Admission Requirements:
Admission Requirements - Foreign Students: 1. Meet the prescribed admission requirements for the program/course  applied for. 2. Submission of necessary requirements for student visa conversion. • Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service • Proficiency in English Test  (for non‐native speakers of English language) • Notarized affidavit of support including bank statement,  notice accommodation,  and other subsistence,  as well as other school dues and incidental expenses. • Five  (5) copies of duly signed student’s personal history statement  (PHS), both in English,  and his/her national alphabet accompanied by his/her personal seal,  if any,   and containing among others,  his left and right thumbprint and 2x2 photograph on plain white background taken not more than six months prior to submission. • Photocopy of data page of the student’s passport showing date and place of birth,  and birth certificate or its equivalent • Philippine Police Clearance

About the Provider

The Technological University of the Philippines was first established in 1901 as the Manila Trade School (MTS). The institution then was solely built for the instruction of the Filipinos on useful trades through the United States Philippine Commission. MTS was renamed as the Philippine School of Arts and Trades (PSAT) in 1910 and started to offer intermediate grade courses. Between 1915 and 1951, PSAT was authorized to offer a secondary level of curriculum and was then granted to offer a four-year degree. In 1959, PSAT then became the Philippine College of Arts and Trades and became well-known throughout the country. Nineteen years later, PCAT was exalted and changed to what is known now as the Technological University of the Philippines. Now, TUP is composed of four campuses located in Manila, Cavite, Taguig, and the Visayas.
 
The Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) provides higher and advanced vocational, technical, industrial, technological, and professional education. It is the university’s goal to provide training in industries and technology, and in practical arts leading to certificates, diplomas, and degrees.
